Smarter than a simple switch
Converting case naïvely breaks things. Textkiln’s sentence and title case keep acronyms (NASA, HTML, EU) and brand names with internal capitals (iPhone, eBay, JavaScript) as they are, capitalise “I” and its contractions, and recognise sentence boundaries correctly after abbreviations. Web addresses and email addresses are left untouched.
If your text is entirely in capitals, every word is treated as ordinary text, since there is no way to tell acronyms apart.
Need a specific style?
- Title case for a style guide (APA, Chicago, AP, MLA, NYT): use the Title Case Converter, which follows each guide’s rules for short words.
- Locale-aware upper/lower case for Turkish, Greek or Lithuanian: use the Uppercase or Lowercase converters.
- camelCase, snake_case, kebab-case for code: use the camelCase & snake_case Converter.

How do I fix text typed with Caps Lock on?
Choose iNVERSE cASE to swap every letter, or Sentence case to rebuild normal capitalisation.
What is the difference between Title Case and Capitalized Case?
Title case follows a style guide and keeps short words like “a”, “of” and “the” lowercase. Capitalized Case capitalises every word.
Will it lowercase acronyms like NASA?
No. Acronyms and mixed-case brand names are preserved unless the whole text is in capitals.
