Find every change between two versions
Paste the original on the left and the changed version on the right. Additions are highlighted in green and deletions in red, updating as you type.
Four views
- Words (default): best for prose (shows reworded phrases without noise from individual letters).
- Characters: catches single-letter typos, punctuation and spacing changes.
- Lines side by side: best for code, lists and structured text, with line numbers and word-level highlighting inside changed lines.
- Sentences: shows which sentences were rewritten, added or removed.
Ignore case and Ignore whitespace hide changes you don’t care about, such as re-capitalised headings or reflowed indentation.
The comparison uses the Myers difference algorithm (via the open-source jsdiff library), the same approach used by Git, and runs entirely in your browser (useful for contracts, drafts and code you can’t paste into an online service). Download gives a simple unified listing of the changes.
Comparing documents
Use Open on either side to load a .docx, .pdf, .odt or text file. Word and PDF files are converted to plain text first, so formatting changes (bold, fonts) aren’t compared, only the words.
